Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)

A gentle path to the origin of trauma

Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is a powerful yet subtle therapeutic approach that helps resolve trauma at its source. Instead of focusing on retelling your story, DBR works beneath the narrative—where trauma first takes hold in the body and nervous system.

Before trauma becomes a memory, belief, or defense, the body generates an immediate survival response. If that response is interrupted, the unresolved shock can stay locked in the system for years, shaping emotions, thoughts, and relationships. DBR helps return to this origin point, so what was once overwhelming can finally be released and integrated.

  • DBR can support healing from:

    • Early attachment wounds and emotional pain

    • Anxiety, chronic shame, or self-doubt

    • Trauma held in the body without clear memory

    • Experiences of shock, betrayal, or loss

    • Longstanding emotional patterns that feel “stuck”

    • Physical tension connected to unresolved trauma

  • DBR sessions are gentle, guided, and collaborative. You don’t need to relive or retell painful events. Instead, we slow the process down, creating space for the nervous system to find what has been held in shock. Together, we carefully follow the natural unfolding of the body’s healing process—without forcing, without overwhelm, and without re-traumatization.

The focus is not on recalling details, but on allowing the accumulated residue of shock to surface and release in a safe, supported way. Many clients describe the experience as clarifying, deeply healing, and quietly transformative.

  • Trauma is often less about what happened and more about what the body could not process at the time. DBR invites the completion of those interrupted survival responses. This allows you to reclaim energy, presence, and a greater sense of wholeness in your life.
